Final 2009 race standings

RAAM home page

Local Information

The Race Across America (RAAM) is a 3,000-mile, coast-to-coast bicycle race from Oceanside, California, to Annapolis, Maryland.  The race begins on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, for participants in the solo divisions (June 16th in the case of women and solo men 60 and over), and on Saturday, June 20th, for the team divisions.

For many more details about the race, go to the RAAM website at www.raceacrossamerica.org or simply click here.

The race course comes right through the Lake area on Highway 54, and Camdenton will be the location of Time Station 31.  At the time stations, racers are required to report their location to national race headquarters. The racers and their support crews may also stop at the time stations to rest, eat, replenish supplies, refuel, etc.  Local volunteers are needed at the time stations to help the racers and crews find what they need and to provide race updates.  If you would like to volunteer—even for just a few hours—please call time station manager Eric Johnston at (573) 569-8731 or e-mail him at ts31camdenton@yahoo.com.

The first racer is expected to reach Time Station 31 in Camdenton on Monday, June 22nd.  The last racer will probably not reach the time station until Thursday or Friday, June 25th or 26th.

If you can’t volunteer, you’re still welcome to stop by the time station and visit. Hopefully, you’ll have a chance to meet some of the remarkable people in this year’s race.  We’ll also be tracking the racers once they approach the Kansas/Missouri border on their way to Camdenton.

Time Station 31 is located at the Signal gasoline station on Highway 54, just east of the Highway 5 intersection.

Thank you very much for your interest in Race Across America, and we hope to see you at Time Station 31.
A special message to the racers, support crews
and race staff of Race Across America

We pledge to do our very best in assisting you in every way possible in your extraordinary journey.  Our resources may be limited, but we've been working very hard to prepare for your arrival.

In addition to the usual assistance provided at time stations, we are hoping to provide you with the most up-to-date race information available when you arrive. We also plan to post this information on this website, and continually update it at least between the arrival of the first racer and the departure of the last one through our time station.

We take great pride in our community, and hope that our pride shows through.

Good luck, godspeed, and may the wind be always at your back.

Sincerely,

Time Station 31 volunteers
